OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP BETS
As you can see I’ve taken the plunge on Lowry and Louis, now to figure out the rest. I was going to be good with DJ and Morikawa, but Cam Smith’s name keeps running through my head and I see Scheffler at 22 and I may need to just grab that. It’s quite tempting. Tune in WED at 9:15am ET for the live chat as I finalize my picks with Tambo.
LIVE: WED 9:15am ET (Final Bets + Viewer Chat)
Justin Thomas — No, The Open history isn’t sterling, but St. Andrews is a different beast. Who has the best combination of distance, creatively green side, inside 125 yard wedges, and Par 4 scoring? It’s JT. Don’t be concerned about his MC at the Scottish, focus more on his overall recent form soon which he’s posted three Top 5s (incident a Major victory) over his past six starts. The back? That’s a worry, but that’s why we got the quality odds.
Louis Oosthuizen 50/1 — The first and second place finishes at the Old Course are nice, shows Louis can do it, but it’s is form since joining LIV that has been encouraging. He’s posted Top 10s at both of those events along with a Top 10 on the DP Tour in Munich. I have no idea how to judge the competitiveness level of any of those tournaments, but his play has been markedly better from the beginning of the PGA TOUR year where he diode’t crack a Top 10 in six starts. Maybe the pressure of keeping the secret is off his shoulders and he’s more relaxed, maybe he’s healthy, maybe he was just not playing great; either way, Louis looks a lot better these days.
THE OPEN GIVEAWAYS
Let’s get this going early for the Open Championoship.
Instead of doing muliple givaways there’s a Top prize of $500 CASH MONEY to the winner, a MASTERS POLO (Size Large) direct from the Augusta National store for secon, and a FREE Fantasy National membership for a year for 3rd.

Notes regarding what worked in terms of DK value
Stars and scrubs … no players on this list were priced $7200-$9100
#TeamNoPutt: 5 of these guys ranked outside the top 125 putters on TOUR in 2021
7 of these players ranked 21st or better (for the season) in either SG:BS or SG:SG
Dylan Frittelli was the only one to rank as a top 70 driver in terms of distance gained
Players that currently grade out in similar fashion for the 2022 season:
You could start a stars and scrubs build with those three if you wanted. You’d have $6,866 left per player. I don’t hate it. The low 7k range has plenty of talent (Mito, Varner, Kokrak, Woodland, Tringale, Hoge, etc), so I could see that. You could also pivot off of one of these stars in favor of two guys in the $7800-$8200 range (Conners, Berger and Homa types)
8 of last years top 10 averaged over 0.1 DK points per hole for season
Surprise players doing that in 2022: Harold Varner III (0.14), Keith Mitchell (0.11)
Players clearing 0.2 points per hole: Rory (0.28), JT (0.23), Scheffler (0.23) and Cam Smith (0.21)
9 of last years top 10 gained in Prox: 200 in at least half of their rounds
Some players doing that in 2022: Emiliano Grillo (70.7%), Adam Scott (69.2%) and Garrick Higgo (65.6%)
9 of last years top 10 gained strokes on Par 5’s in over 55% of rounds
Some players doing that in 2022: Seamus Power (62.9%), Tom Hoge (59%) and Cameron Tringale (55.6%)
Players checking all 3 boxes:
You could build a lineup with JT and Hideki at the top, Kim at the bottom and pepper the $7,500-$8,500 range.
You could build around 3 of the low 9k guys and get away with it
You could build around those 2 6k guys and have $9,200 left per player to fill things out.
ST ANDREWS WEATHER
The wind? It continues to look like it will stay down. But that’s for now. I’m still waiting for it to flip last second. There is some rain now however.

Tambo and I will really hammer down on this Wednesday morning on the show, but here’s what I’m thinking right now for players over 15% in the large Milly Maker
