Week 8 Team Notes

Panthers: Rush TD or 4+ catches in 5 straight games for Chuba Hubbard

- It’s ugly and CMC is supposed to be back next week. But there’s no real question as to who the insurance back is and therefore he should stay rostered if at all possible.

Falcons: 6 straight games with at least 5 targets for Cordarrelle Patterson

- As explosive as C-Patt has been … his next carry gaining 15+ yards will be his first of the season

Dolphins: DeVante Parker sets season highs in catches, yards and targets

- He’s seen 7+ targets in all 5 of his games this season and consider Miami ran for 68 yards on 23 carries in Week 8 … the pass first style isn’t going anywhere any time soon

Bills: Cole Beasley has posted his best two fantasy games of the season in Buffalo’s past two games

- Stefon Diggs scores to save you, but in a pass happy offense, he was held under 70 receiving yards for the 5thtime this season

49ers: Deebo Samuel goes over 150 receiving yards for the 3rd time this season.

- He’s seen at least 8 targets in every game this season

Bears: Justin Fields averaged under 12 rush per game through Week 5. He’s averaging 61.3 in the three weeks since.

- Mooney Tunes set a season-high in targets. Had his hands on a bomb at the end of the game. He seems to be the WR1 in this offense and the Bears end the regular season with MIN twice, SEA and NYG.

Steelers: Chase Claypool has more than 5 catches just once this season and has been held under 50 receiving yards 3 times in 6 games … sell high when we inevitably get a spike week in November.

- 3 straight games with 25+ touches for Najee Harris

- Bye week behind them and a handful of plus-matchups left on the board … the RBs who project for more PPR points moving forward is a short list

Browns: Baker Mayfield has thrown 204 passes this season … and just 6 touchdowns

- The schedule isn’t pretty from Week 12 on … selling any CLE pieces (RBs or Landry) might not be a bad idea ahead of your trade deadline

Eagles: Jalen Hurts is on pace for 918 rushing yards. He’s scored over 6 fantasy points with his legs in 4 straight (and 6 times this season)

- Early usage without Sanders (1st quarter): Boston Scott (7 carries, 35 yards, TD), Reagor (2 carries), Gainwell (nadda)

- PHI has a gettable LAC run defense next week and still has … three games against New York teams and both Washington matchups.

Lions: 31 targets for TJ Hockenson over the past 3 weeks (24 catches)

- The volume is great, but somewhat empty. He hasn’t scored since Week 2

Titans: 5 straight games with at least 110 total yards for Jonathan Taylor

- He’s rushed for a score in all 5 of those games

- He still gets the Jags (twice), Jets and Texans

Colts: Michael Pittman has 42-565-4 after a slow Week 1 vs SEA

- Project that for a full 17-game season: 102-1372-10

- Does anybody value him as a WR on that sort of pace for nearly two months?

Bengals:

- Ja’Marr Chase finishes October with more 50+ yard catches than games this SEASON in which he has been held out of the end zone

Jets: Mike White had more passing yards in the first half (217) than Zach Wilson had in all first halves since Week 3 (214) … and the first half was White’s less half of Week 8!

- White is the first Jet to throw for 400 yards in a game since Vinny Testaverde (Week 17, 2000)

Rams: Van Jefferson has more receiving yards than Robert Woods over the past 3 weeks (on 3 fewer targets)

- 3 straight games with 115 yards AND a touchdown for Cooper Kupp. His next TD catch will mark a career high

Texans: 45-yard TD in garbage time bails you out if you played Brandin Cooks (otherwise: 5 catches for 38 yards)

- Remove that TD and his past 5 games: 43 targets and 215 receiving yards with 0 TD

- 5 yards per target with little scoring equity isn’t going to get it done. Selling based on his current counting numbers (and the optimism that Tyrod Taylor could return) might not be a bad move if your league mates are interested.

Washington: 3 straight weeks with under 60 total yards and no touchdowns for Antonio Gibson

- He’s averaging a tick over 50 rushing yards since running for 90 in Week 1 against a porous Chargers run D

Broncos: Melvin Gordon isn’t fun to watch, but he’s somehow producing (5 straight with multiple catches, 5 TDs this season)

- He (and Javonte Williams) still have two games against the Chargers, two against the Chiefs and a Week 14 date with the Lions. Both of them are worth a look, given that if either gets hurt, we are looking at top-15 production.

Patriots: Damien Harris has scored in 4 straight games and has at least 16 touches in 3 straight

- The value is strong in positive game scripts, but we could have a rough month at the worst of times … Weeks 13-16: Buffalo twice, a bye and at Indy. You’ve been warned

Chargers: Rough game for the bolts offense, but Keenan Allen (who was talked up during the bye week) saw double digit targets for the 4th time this season

- Back-to-back dud games from Mike Williams after scoring 6 times in his first 5 games. If his manager is getting antsy … Chiefs-Texans-Broncos-Raiders over the final four weeks of the regular season

Jags: Jamal Agnew has hit double figure PPR points in 3 of Jacksonville’s past 4 games

- Tarzan Dan Arnold has seen at least 5 targets in each of the past 3 games and appears to be the top option in this offense that is routinely playing from behind.

Seahawks: Tyler Lockett had been held under 60 receiving yards in 5 straight prior to Sunday’s outburst

- In his previous 3 games, he caught just 45% of his targets (12 of 13 in Week 8)

- DK Metcalf has as many multi-score games this season as scoreless games

Bucs: The Saints claim another RB soul: Leonard Fournette turns 11 touches into just 43 yards

- The rematch takes place during a critical fantasy week (Week 15)

- Ezekiel Elliott and Christian McCaffrey also have to deal with this defense over the final month of the fantasy season

Saints: Is Alvin Kamara risky? 112 yards on 39 carries over the past two weeks. The pass game is a moving target in New Orleans, so his name could be worth more than the fantasy production ROS.

- Mark Ingram got 8 touches … could that role grow?

UFC

BIG WEEK with the UFC 268 card on this coming weekly. The Dog or Pass Picks show will be out Wednesday night, but Cody provided a recap of UFC 267, where, if he had just hedged on the underdog in the main event, it would have been a YUGE SCORE. I hedged out, because I always hedge out when it makes sense, but some just prefer to let to ride…
