Week 6 RB Snaps
Week 6 Team Notes
Commanders: Brian Robinson out-touched Antonio Gibson 7-0 in the first half and seems to have a hold on this backfield. That said, be careful. Washington is going to be a pretty substantial ‘dog in three of their next four (GB, MIN and PHI) and Robinson earned 0 targets on his 5 routes (McKissic and Gibson combined for 7 targets on 12 routes).
Bears: Justin Fields set season highs in both pass (27) and rush (12) attempts in the ugly loss. That’s a nice little occurrence for a QB that plays the Lions, Falcons and Jets in Weeks 10-12, a stretch when 10 teams go on bye and you could be searching for a streamer.
49ers: Brandon Aiyuk led this team in targets and scored twice … go ahead and sell. This is still a run-centric offense with two pass catchers ahead of him in the hierarchy.
Falcons: Caleb Huntley was out-snapped by Tyler Allgeier, but his touch per snap rate was far superior … both got reasonable volume in this game, but I’m not sure you can count on Atlanta’s game script working like it did against San Fran on any sort of consistency.
Patriots: Bailey Zappe looked great against the Browns … read it as more a “bad Browns” thing than a “Zappe matters for fantasy” thing.
Browns: Amari Cooper saw 12 targets, that’s the good. But 4 catches and 44 yards? He’s going to have a big game at some point and I’d be looking to move him after it … maybe at halftime of that game.
Jets: Buying high on Breece Hall is very much in play. Notta chance I’m messing with any part of this pass game though.
Packers: Another dud from Aaron Rodgers and it came on 41 attempts in a positive game script for the pass game against the … Jets. I know he’s won consecutive MVPs, but he can’t be near fantasy lineups at the moment.
Jaguars: This currently feels like a committee and Robinson had a chance to score, but this is Etienne’s backfield. If you can get him at a committee price tag, I think I would.
Colts: The Deon Jackson experience certainly was something. Make sure he’s not available in your league, but more importantly, are we sure Jonathan Taylor gets that unquestioned, elite role back when he is healthy? Not positive, but I have a hard time thinking Taylor’s value in the trade market is ever going to be lower than it is now.
Vikings: Dalvin Cook got there late with the 53-yard TD, but he really hasn’t looked the part. Adam Thielen scored and remains underrated … the volume seems to always be there and we know he can score.
Dolphins: Raheem Mostert wasn’t 100% healthy, but he was the only Dolphin with more than 2 carries or 10 rush yards. If you think the Dolphins will be competitive down the stretch, Mostert is a viable RB2.
Bengals: Time to move Chase? These big games are going to happen, but so are duds. They got caught up in a shootout with the Saints with a hobbled Tee Higgins. Not every week is going to work like that, so if you can get top-10 overall player value, fine with moving on.
Saints: 25 receiving yards won’t jump off the screen at you, but 9 targets and 19 carries … Alvin Kamara is back and 100% a top-5 RB.
Ravens: JK Dobbins doesn’t look good and this team is more than willing to give Kenyan Drake work. You don’t have to agree with that decision, but a committee in a Lamar Jackson led offense isn’t something I interested in. At all.
Giants: Daniel Bellinger scored and led the team in targets and catches. I still don’t really buy this team, so if you think they’ll be playing from behind and game script will be in the favor of the pass game … Bellinger is on the 12 team radar.
Bucs: Chris Godwin’s 12 targets are all sorts of encouraging. Better times ahead for this entire offense, especially Mike Evans.
Steelers: I’m not buying Chase Claypool. He’s Ja’Marr Chase lite. This offense isn’t capable of supporting enough upside to make him viable.
Panthers: DJ Moore was useless. Again. Robbie Anderson got sent off the field. This offense is a mess and somehow CMC continues to do his thing. It can’t get worse … right? Right??? I’m OK with dropping Moore BTW if you need help filling out your roster.
Rams: Allen Robinson has seen at least one end zone target in every single game this season. He’s going to be a reasonable DFS roll of the dice every week, but not sure you can ever play him in season long with any sort of confidence.
Cardinals: Kyler Murray continues to run. We’ve seen this fade with time before, but this is encouraging. He doesn’t have top tier QB potential, but when he’s running and getting Nuk back (next week!), he can lead that second tier. But … Call of Duty looms.
Seahawks: In an ugly Geno Smith game, Noah Fact saw some nice volume. Am I counting on it continuing? Of course not. But it’s another name to add to the “hey, this guy is in a good spot and I need anything I can get” list at the TE position. Fun.
Bills: A long TD for Gabe Davis and that’s what he does. Whatever. You could sell-high if you’re not confident in the volume long-term. I’m more in on this 7-letter trend. First names of WRs vs KC. Three Michael WR1’s went over 15 (PPR) fantasy points against KC. Davante Adams hung 27.4 on them. And then Gabriel Davis. The Chiefs play B-r-a-n-d-o-n Aiyuk next week. You’ve been warned.
Chiefs: I can’t imagine CEH is ever going to get enough volume weekly for me to feel good about him. He’s going to have his moments and probably gives you another sell-high window if he falls into the end zone … I’d pounce.
