Week 4 Team Notes
Jaguars: Calvin Ridley had 41 yards on the second drive of Week 1 ... he hasn't had 41 receiving yards in a game since
Falcons: London has been held under 50 receiving yards in 13 of 21 career games. As good as he is, he doesn't matter for us
Dolphins: De'Von Achane did it again. "Selling high" is an option ... I just have no idea how to value him. I still think this has committee potential in a pass heavy system, so I'll take all I can get right now.
Bills: James Cook punched in a one-yard score (barely) and recorded a 48-yard reception. He has all the makings of a RB1 in fantasy if the goal line work is his.
Broncos: Russell Wilson has multiple TD passes in three of four games this season and with a few deep threats at his disposal, he's a fine streaming option as we reach bye week season.
Bears: Khalil Herbert played well ahead of Roschon Johnson and gave you 122 yards with a touchdown. Sell. I'm not betting on the Bears scoring 28 points on any sort of consistent basis and if they aren't moving the ball like this, Herbert's value will creator, even if he holds off Johnson as the top guy in this backfield.
Ravens: This is why rostering Raven pass catchers can be dangerous. I understand that Todd Monken offers a change of pace, but this remains a conservative offense in terms of air yards and if they are in a script that doesn't require them to throw, Zay Flowers is going to have his fair share of dud weeks. He saw just four targets in a game that profiled as a great spot for the short pass game against an elite pass rush.
Browns: Jerome Ford getting six targets to Kareem Hunt's zero is interesting ... nothing else for the Browns really was with DTR being an adventure in replacing Deshaun Watson.
Bengals: This is a tough spot. I want to say better times are ahead, but this offense is stuck right now. The injury to Tee Higgins could lock Joe Burrow out of the weekly starter conversation and if his targets aren't worth what we thought they'd be, Chase offers as much risk as reward. It's a tough scene in Cincy right now, but maybe that's an opportunity to buy talent at a dip - it does require some cojones though, this offense has shown us nothing through the first month.
Titans: Didn't learn much here other than Derrick Henry remains a tough tackle. DeAndre Hopkins was fine, but without much scoring equity and a lack of quality in his targets, he's basically Drake London.
Rams: That's another strong performance from Puka Nacua, but we've seen the insane target share come back to earth. The return of Cooper Kupp looms - I'll probably be a week early on the selling of Nacua than a week late.
Colts: Anthony Richardson became the first QB in NFL history with a rush score in each of his first three games. He's 2022 Justin Fields and maybe even better given that he has a WR1.
Bucs: Godwin's upside weekly is going to be capped, but his volume is solid and if Mike Evans is limited in any capacity, Godwin is as good a bet to reach 8-10 catches as just about anyone in this offense that doesn't have confidence in their ground game.
Saints: Alvin Kamara averaged 2.5 yards per catch. Not rush. Per catch. If this is how the offense is going to look with a banged up Derek Carr, this won't be the last dud we get from Chris Olave (five targets, four yards)
Commanders: Terry McLaurin is just really good. The matchups have been brutal, but he's managed to remain efficient. The raw fantasy numbers aren't just whatever, but better times should be ahead of him as the unquestioned top option in this pass game.
Eagles: I think this is closer to what you can expect from Swift than what we saw the two weeks prior - somewhere in the 65-80 yard range with a chance at a score in a potent offense. A very viable role, don't get me wrong, but not the elite option that we saw in Weeks 2 and 3
Vikings: Kirk Cousins threw 13 fewer passes against the Panthers than he averaged completions through three weeks
Panthers: This offense isn't nearly good enough to handle a committee backfield. Chuba Hubbard and Miles Sanders split 27 carries (none of which gained more than 7 yards)
Steelers: Six catches on six targets for Jaylen Warren. Najee Harris is doing just enough to hold the edge on the ground, though I still don't think you can play either with confidence given this split (and the incompetence of this offense in general).
Texans: Nico Collins starred and he's a very good player - but so is whoever the top target earner is facing the Steelers. The get Mark Andrews next week, go on bye and then could be victimized by Cooper Kupp in Week 7
Raiders: Jacobs scored and caught eight balls, but another game without a carry gaining more than 20 yards (we are approaching a calendar year since his last such carry). Heck, none of his 17 carries even gained 10 yards. The fantasy line looks fine, but I'm still worried.
Chargers: Eight targets for Josh Palmer and just three for Johnston. The hierarchy in the WR room seems to be as it was prior to the injury to Mike Williams and that's good. The bad? If Justin Herbert's health is in question, it might not matter that Palmer is filling the profitable Williams role.
Patriots: There isn't one player on this team you should feel good about starting. Not one.The draft capital you spent on Rhamondre Stevenson no longer matters.
Cowboys: Jake Ferguson is a weekly starter. That simple. I know all of the numbers regarding young tight ends, but he is the most reliable pass catcher on this roster that is not named after a farm animal.
Cardinals: Michael Wilson with a pair of scores. I'm less sold on that and more sold on the consistent downfield threat that he has proven to be. He's a nice roster addition as we approach bye week SZN.
49ers: With Deebo banged up, Aiyuk went off. The opposite of last week. This pass catching core remains a random number generator when everyone is healthy, but if one sits, the WR1 is a must play.
