Week 5 DraftKings Ownership & Top Plays
Justin Freeman released this handy cheatsheet to guide you quickly this weekend. This chart is from Friday evening. Once certain players are offically ruled IN or OUT, then everything will get a fresh update Sunday morning. But it should give you a sense of what people are doing on DraftKings this week.
Note: The Montgomrey ownership in the graphic was made before Gibbs was listed as doubtful. Expect that to be much, much higher…

DRAFTKINGS IDEAS
Of course, Tambo and I talk through our favorite ideas and lineups on Friday. Yes, I’m still rocking CJ Stroud stacks with Bijan as my main

But here something different…
Stack Attack
Wedged between four MVP candidates and the league's leader in touchdown passes is Anthony Richardson, a spot in the pricing hierarchy that could suppress his ownership in a real way. We know the upside is there with his legs, but how about a matchup with a defense that ranks 26th or worse in completion percentage, yards per attempt, passer rating and just about any other aerial metric you want to look at?
Even better is the fact that 29% of his targets go to a single source who is capable of breaking a big play at any time in Michael Pittman. This stack is $2,600 cheaper than the Hurts/Brown tandem and saves you $2,400 from the Mahomes/Kelce duo. When you factor in rushing and one single pass catcher, there might not be a more concentrated pass game in the league than what the Colts have and they are in the premier matchup!
Pay Down QB
Jared Goff vs CAR: He's not dirt cheap, but he is a few levels down in a week that should figure plenty of ownership at the top. Combine that with him playing at home (23-to-3 touchdown-to-interception rate at home last season and his top-two games this season have come at Detroit) and you have a perfect buy spot. Some will worry about the big spread, but I embrace it -- how do you think they get up by so much? Look for the Panthers to try to do what the Packers couldn't last week and contain David Montgomery. If they pull that off, Goff hitting the bonus is a decent bet and he's an easy stack option with St. Brown or LaPorta.
Running Backs
Neither Breece Hall nor James Conner hits $6,000 this week and that means they could both be in your lineup in a savings build that focuses on elite pass catchers. I'm not sure what to make of the coach speak out of New York as they talk about unleashing Hall, but I do know what to make out of the Denver defense at the moment:

He might be a chalky play, but with a unique stack to start things off, you should be OK. As for Conner, all he is doing is earning 80% of the RB carries in 'Zona and he faces the third worst yards per carry defense in the league. Maybe Burrow gets right this week and game script is an issue. If not, Conner is a good bet for 20 touches and 100+ yards, a nice value at his price point.
Rookie Receiver Week!
Rashee Rice is very much trending in a positive direction and has yet to see his price tag reflect much separation from the others in that KC WR room. Zay Flowers hasn't been all that good after a strong debut, but against a pressure oriented Steelers defense, his low aDOT role could well be gold.
Buying the rookie narrative this week? Forget onslaughting the Vikings/Chiefs game (scary, I know) and get your exposure by way of a rookie skinny stack with Rice and Jordan Addison. The Vikings first year receiver has yet to separate from KJ Osborn for the WR2 role, but that doesn't mean he can't. He's the more explosive player and with a better-than-we-thought Chiefs defense likely obsessed with trying to slow Justin Jefferson, why can't Addison truly breakout at a cheap price tag?
Is it a Taysom Week?
I have no idea, but he does have 20 carries on his ledger this season and Derek Carr wasn't near right last week. It doesn't take much to come through at the TE position these days, so if he gets his hands on the ball 6-8 times (I don't care how: pass, rush, or catch), he could provide value - not to mention the break the slate potential that he has if the usage spikes.
D/ST Pick
If I'm triple stacking Richardson, it's with the Colts defense. Think about it. If Phony Tony and Pittman go off, the Titans are going to have to throw. If you're telling me Ryan Tannehill is throwing 35 times, there isn't a price too high for me to go on the Colts D.
Using the same logic, the Saints DST makes sense. If you want to tell a story with Mac Jones airing it out 40 times, I'm in!
