Week 4 RB Snaps
Week 4 Team-By-Team Notes
NO: Taysom Hill decided to score a pair of touchdowns and then leave the game, understanding that he ruined the fantasy day for all of us. OK, so maybe it was a chest injury, but still. His usage remains sporadic at best and if he misses time, the scoring equity for both Alvin Kamara and Chris Olave increases, giving them a better shot at consistency.
ATL: A 35.3% target share for Drake London was encouraging, a donut from Kyle Pitts is not. I don't care what the profile is -- he's not a fantasy starter.
LAR: Kyren Williams scores for a 7th straight game and continues to prove himself as the only option on this injury riddles team that you can even remotely count on (no, I'm not reading into Tutu Atwell's 82 yards).
CHI: D'Andre Swift's 36-yard rush TD makes his rushing line look better than it was (15 for 57 otherwise). His path to mattering is the 41.1% reception share. That won't stick, but the involvement was enough for you to sell him if you want -- he's not getting that level of usage often with three viable receivers on this team.
MIN: Jordan Addison made a big catch late and a few splash plays with touchdowns -- sound familiar? That's what he did as a rookie. His scoring rates are a lot like what we saw from early career Christian Watson -- I'm still tempted not to buy.
GB: Jordan Love looked rusty in his return to action, but he looked so rusty that it helped him pile up some numbers. Dontayvion Wicks seemed to have his attention and he's back on the sleeper radar, albeit with a low floor.
PIT: Two rush TDs, a reckless sack/fumble ... this was theJustin Fields experience. WIth him heavily featuring his top two pass catchers and running with reckless abandon -- might he be what we wanted Anthony Richardson to be this season? It' a boring offense, but they get the Cowboy and Raiders over the next two weeks.
IND: Anthony Richardson was hurt not once, but twice, and eventually ruled out for the game. This is now the third time in less than 1.5 years he's left a game early ... It's reasonable to think that the play-calling could be tweaked moving forward, something that would subtract from his fantasy appeal in a significant way.
DEN: The weather was an issue, but negative passing yards for an entire half is legit hard to do.Bo Nix will have his moments -- it's the stringing them together that's the issue. There isn't a Bronco that should matter for you.
NYJ: This Breece Hall situation could be a weird one. ANd maybe a fantasy season defining one. Buy low? Braelon Allen looks like the real deal, but Aaron Rodgers pretty clearly trusts Hall as a pass catcher, as this is the second straight week taking a shot at him down the field. If the Hall manager is 0-4 or 1-3, it's worth opening up the dialogue.
PHI: If you needed proof that this is a concentrated offense, you got it in Week 4 with both AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith out. Don't get cute with this offense -- they have four skill guys you can start weekly and no one else that needs to be rostered.
TB: Bucky Irving was getting the valuable carries, something that felt like only a matter of time. Rachaad White is going to continue to be used, but this is trending toward a direction where neither gets strong volume.
CIN: Chase Brown was on the wrong side of essentially a 75/25% split through three weeks, but he was trusted with the valuable touches against the Panthers and paid it off with a pair of touchdowns. This profiles as a hot-hand situation in a pass-centric offense -- not ideal
CAR: Diontae Johnson is a weekly fantasy starter without much thought. Another double digit target game from Andy Dalton in a positive passing script -- get used to it.
JAX: Christian Kirk gets on the board for the first time this season. Could this be a sell-high opportunity? Brian Thomas is starting to earn targets at an improved level and Evan Engram (hamstring) will be back eventually to eat into those short looks. They get the Colts in Week 5, so you might be able to wait one more week if you want.
HOU: The list of receivers better than Nico Collins isn't long. Stefon Diggs saw enough volume to make it work this week with Tank Dell sidelined, but this feels a lot like a situation where it'll be Diggs or Dell weekly that is viable -- I'm happy to move either for a player with a more consistent target share.
WAS: Jayden Daniels is an elite fantasy option, it's really that simple. Nothing we've seen through four games suggests that tough upcoming matchups (vs. CLE this week and at BAL in Week 6) will phase him in the least.
AZ: In all of those first-quarter only fantasy leagues out there, Marvin Harrison Jr. is already the best player on the planet. Michael Wilson showed stability in his ability to earn targets that we saw last week -- if that's sticky, he's going to be in the Flex discussion weekly for a Cards team that will be playing from behind consistently.
NE: In the first half alone, Rhamodre Stevenson extended his fumble streak to four straight games and failed to convert a fourth and short. I don't want any part of this offense and I'm no longer confident in labeling Stevenson as the leader in touches.
SF: Everyone was back for the 49ers and that served as a nice reminder that the number of targets is going to be volatile weekly. Fun. I'll never have a problem selling any of these pieces after a big week -- you just didn't really get the chance to do it here.
CLE: Amari Cooper can make some highlight plays, but his lack of consistent concentration is an issue. Nobody piles up low impact receptions quite like Jerome Ford and PPR managers should be here for it!
LV: Zamir White again dominated the rush attempts, but he put the ball on the ground again and this isn't an offense with a ton of leeway. He's a volume Flex play moving forward, though I don't think his job security is elite.
KC: The Rashee Rice injury puts Travis Kelce back into the Travis Kelce role until we know more. Xavier Worthy made the big play (54-yard TD), but he continues to struggle to earn targets and any absence of Rice isn't going to help that.
LAC: So ... that JK Dobbins experience early in the season was fun, right? Ladd McConkey looks like the best fantasy option in this pass game, but given that this team doesn't want to pass at a high rate, that puts him rosters but not in lineups.
