WEEK 2 QUICK TEAM NOTES
Jets: Two Jets had more targets than anyone on this team had rushing attempts. Like it or not, this Flacco led offense is … pass heavy?
Browns: Nick Chubb will get the deserved headlines, but Kareem Hunt has 24 carries through 2 weeks, has yet to have a target hit the ground and has a run AND reception gaining over 10 yards in both weeks.
Commanders: Since 2020, only 3 times has a receiver had 7 catches AND 15 rush yards in consecutive games: CeeDee Lamb, Amon-Ra St. Brown and Curtis Samuel (current)
Lions: 68 catches for 740 yards and 8 scores. Not a bad season for most, a damn good 8 game run for Amon-Ra St. Brown.
Bucs: Uncle Lenny doesn’t have a 20-yard carry or a 10-yard catch through 2 weeks. The volume is elite (45 carries and 6 targets thus far), but this Bucs offense doesn’t require much attention at the moment.
Saints: A 32.5% target share for Chris Olave is good to see in a game where Michael Thomas (6-65-1) was fine. Jarvis Landry is the value to watch after the big Week 1: 5 targets for 25 yards is a very Landry line.
Panthers: Robbie Anderson was held under 10 fantasy points 11 times last season, held to 5 or fewer 7 times. You play him every week or you never do. Good luck with that.
Giants: Matchup of elite backs? Remove a 49-yard from CMC and the McCaffrey/Barkley combo carried 35 times for 125 yards.
Patriots: Jakobi Meyers had as many catches as any two of his teammates had combined targets.
Steelers: Najee Harris touched the ball 20 times and didn’t once pick up more than 8 yards.
Colts: Game flow. Jonathan Taylor had 106% of the IND RB rushing yards … and he disappointed … against the Jags.
Jags: Christian Kirk didn’t have consecutive 17-point games (PPR) last season. In fact, he only had one such game after Week 6. Back-to-back to open his Jags career?
Dolphins: Don’t tell Cust. Tua became the 4th active player with a 450-yard 5-TD game before turning 25 … the other three have all played in Super Bowls (Mahomes, Stafford and Goff)
Ravens: Despite the tough matchup, Rashod Bateman scored from 75 yards out on a catch and run. He has a 50+ yard TD catch in consecutive games, something that four players accomplished last season.
Falcons: Drake London accounting for 47% of ATL receptions is all sorts of encouraging … they are going to be trailing A LOT this season and he seems to have a high volume role locked in.
Rams: Over the past 365 days, Kupp has 7 games with at least 9 catches and 2 TDs. Davante Adams is the only player with 7 such games since the beginning of 2015.
Seahawks: 6.5 yards per catch through two weeks for DK Metcalf. For reference, Ray-Ray McCloud averaged 7.1 yards per catch last season. Yes. Geno has made DK a version of Ray-Ray. What a world.
49ers: TDP ran 14 times. That’s good. Totaling 33 yards in the process is bad. 20 of those yards coming on a single carry … that’s even worse.
Bengals: Tee Hee Higgins has 100 yards or a TD in 5 of his last 7 fully healthy games. Chase is the highlight machine … don’t lose track of how special Higgins is.
Cowboys: 3 different Cowboys had at least 5 targets and 55 receiving yards. Either this offense isn’t as broken as we thought under Cooper Rush OR this Bengals defense is a target. Either way … avoid DFS chalk defenses at all costs.
Texans: Brandin Cooks and Nico Collins accounted for more than half of the Texan targets … there is going to be a week this pass game wins somebody a boat load of money. Now we just need to figure that week out.
Broncos: In Week 1, Russell Wilson wasn’t targeting WRs at all early. In Week 2, Courtland Sutton was the only player with multiple catches
Cardinals: Hollywood had a TD come back, but the target count was there and the “Arizona can’t stop anyone” thing isn’t going to change any time soon.
Raiders: Everyone on Vegas seemingly had a 15-25 yard catch, but no game breakers. This is life with Derek Carr. There are going to be some great weeks, but this won’t be the last time we see something like this.
