Week 16 Team Notes
Giants: No Giant scored even 12 fantasy points … and that includes garbage time
- Kadarius Toney saw 9 targets … he’ll be a “ignore the 2021 stats” guy when drafting in the summer
Eagles: DeVonta Smith had his most targets since Week 7 and his target count has increased in consecutive games
- Dallas Goedert puts fantasy managers in a tough spot with his customary drop to start the game routine. Can’t do that when Hurts throws under 30 passes (which is what Philly wants to do)
Rams: Matthew Stafford had his worst fantasy game of the season … Cooper Kupp still catches 10 balls for 109 yards. Is that his floor?
Vikings: KJ Osborn has scored in each of his past 4 games with 5+ targets
Bills: In a pass heavy offense, Emmanuel Sanders (still rostered in the majority of ESPN Leagues) has somehow been held under 30 receiving yards in each of his past 6 games
Patriots: Damien Harris has run for at least 1 score in 8 of his past 9 games
- Jakobi Meyers has seen 8+ targets in 3 straight games … they play the Jags next week, a matchup where those targets should hold increased value
Buccaneers: Antonio Brown has seen over 10 targets over scored in 4 straight games
- Ronald Jones out-touched Ke’Shawn Vaughn 22-7, but only out-gained him by 11 yards (trust the volume here, not the results)
Panthers: How tough is it to bank on a Cam Newton pass game? Robby Anderson and DJ Moore turned 21 targets into 113 yards in a game script that demanded the Panthers pick up yards through the air
Jaguars: For the 4th straight game (and 7th time in 8 games), Trevor Lawrence failed to throw a TD pass
- He threw 3 TD passes on 51 Week 1 passes. Since: 6 TDs on 492 passes
Jets: Jacksonville had the top 4 players in terms of receiving yards in this game
- Over 48% of Zach Wilson’s points came on the TD run
Lions: Extend Amon-Ra St. Brown’s past 4 games over a full 17 game schedule: 1,445 receiving yards and 13 TDs
Falcons: From 2014-20, Cordarrelle Patterson had 5 rushing touchdowns. He notched his 6th of the season against the Lions.
- He has 10 games this season with 5 catches or a rush TD
- Kyle Pitts’ yardage totals over his past 5 games: 26-48-61-77-102 (he was the only Falcon to top 40 receiving yards in Week 16)
Chargers: Justin Jackson is the only RB this season to have a game with 2 rush TD and 95+ receiving yards
Texans: 5th time over the past decade that a team with 3 or fewer wins scored over 40 points in a December game.
Ravens: Mark Andrews has hit the 100-yard bonus AND scored in 3 straight
- He’s seen 8+ targets in every game since the Week 8 bye ... with 3 different QBs starting over that stretch. Baltimore has a simple offense.
Bengals: In Tee Higgins’ past 4 home games (play at home next week): 32 catches for 560 yards and 4 TD
- 6+ targets in 3 of 4 games for CJ Uzomah. Exciting? No. Fine given his DK price tag? Yep
Steelers: In a game where the Steelers generated next to nothing offensively … 24 touches and 110 yards for Najee Harris
- Be careful … Najee Harris’ rookie season lines up awfully similarly to that of Trent Richardson when you adjust for the current environment of offense (high volume, low efficiency)
o That’s not a bad thing in the context of rookie production … but it is a worry in the sense that Richardson averaged under 14 touches per game in his sophomore campaign
Chiefs: Byron Pringle set a season high in catches and targets
- He caught 2 TDs against the Steelers after averaging fewer than 2 catches over his 4 games prior
Broncos: At least 4 catches or a rushing TD in all 5 games since the Week 11 bye for Javonte Williams
- In most formats, the Broncos DST has scored over 5 fantasy points in 5 straight games and get a Chargers team next week that just lost to the Texans
Raiders: After going over 100 yards in 3 straight games, Hunter Renfrow has a total of 72 over the past 2 weeks
- Josh Jacobs picked up 129 yards on 27 carries against the Broncos. In his 3 games prior: 37 carries for 128 yards
Seahawks: In Seattle’s past two favorable spots, Rashaad Penny has run for 172 yards and 3 TDs on 33 carries. The Seahawks host the Lions in Week 17
Bears: David Montgomery’s yards per carry have dipped in 3 straight games, but he’s saved you with at least 5 receptions in 4 straight games
