Week 13 RB Opportunities
Week 13 Team-By-Team Notes
LAC: Ladd McConkey cleared 100 yards in the first half and had 11 targets before any of his teammates cleared 11 receiving yards
ATL: Kirk Cousins was trying to look as unimpressive as possible -- he threw a terrible end zone pick, his first of the season. He funnels looks to where we need it, but it can be an irritating watch and has plenty of room for growth next season.
PIT: Russell Wilson supported five players with more first half receiving yards than any Bengal had during the first 30 minutes. If this team is comfortable opening up ... they are dangerous in the betting market and viable starting, at different levels, in fantasy formats.
CIN: I wouldn't read much into this ... Cincy is what Cincy is. You can count on Joe Burrow, Chase Brown, and both receivers. If you're stuck, Mike Gesicki is a piece of a potent offense that runs routes with regularity.
ARI: Could Trey McBride be walking into peak Travis Kelce form? It's possible -- he's giving you an edge weekly and will be an interesting player when it comes to 2025 draft in terms of where in the overall rankings he falls.
MIN: Justin Jefferson has been held without a catch in consecutive first quarters. Defenses are keying on him and while slowing him completely is difficult this focus does leave the door open for Jordan Addison and TJ Hockenson to see more volume than you might otherwise assume is possible next to arguably the best receiver in the sport.
IND: There's no reason to bet on a Colt pass catcher as long as it's Anthony Richardson's show. I understand the theoretical promise, but the ability to unlock that isn't something we've seen with even sporadic consistency. There's nothing to chase here ... a WR can hit in a given week, but it's little more than random
NE: Drake Maye completed 85% of his passes AND had a 41-yard run in the first half. If this team can put a Terry McLauring type of receiver around him, why can't he produce at that level?
SEA: DK Metcalf was held without a catch in the first half -- no Seahawk saw more than three targets in the first 30 minutes. This is a talented team, but Geno Smith is hovering at the threshold when it comes to a QB that can get multiple fantasy options to the finish line.
NYJ: Davante Adams had a touchdown and a 40% target share in the first half ... the start of things to come or simply a flash in the pan? New York's schedule isn't a major problem over the next few weeks -- if you've survived with Adams up to this point you might get a peak at the perfect time.
TEN: Nick Westbrook-Ikhine scores again -- he's been held out of the end zone once since September. He lacks volume in a Will Levis offense and is making it work. This is what makes predicting the future difficult ... process based analysis is never going to get you in this spot.
WAS: Terry McLaurin has a career high in TD receptions , accounting for two quick ones as Washington found the end zone on four straight drives to open the day. Crazy the difference a quarterback makes, right?
HOU: When you weigh quality of quarterback, surrounding talent, and physical ability -- is Nico Collins in the best spot of any receiver in the game?
JAX: Trevor Lawrence takes the cheap shot and that has it looking like Mac Jones the rest of the way. Evan Engram has been the outlet target for Jones and he remains viable, but everything else is risky. Brian Thomas Jr. could have had a 69-yard TD but was missed. His upside is still significant, but I can't imagine going this direction unless you're an underdog in the matchup -- the range of outcomes is just so wide
LAR: Demarcus Robinson is essentially West Coast Nick Westbrook-Ikhine. The touchdowns are nice, but this game saw 60.9% of Matthew Stafford's targets go to either Puka Nacua or Cooper Kupp -- this is a condensed offense that isn't built to support a third pass catcher.
NO: Juwan Johnson isn't exciting, but this is a low-octane offense and if Taysom Hill's injury lingers, he could provide gross PPR value the rest of the way (Giants, Commanders, Packers, and Raiders). His five catches against the Rams tied for the team lead.
TB: Bucky Irving and Mike Evans and move on. Cade Otton's usage metrics tank when Evans is on the field and Rachaad White's role is that of a specialist -- he's fancy Theo Riddick.
CAR: Good for Bryce Young in sharing the love, but bad for fantasy managers. With this backfield trending close to a committee -- there's not a player on this team you need to worry about.
PHI: Saquon Barkley feels inevitable andi s proving weekly that he'll deserve 1.01 consideration this summer.
BAL: I think you cut Justin Tucker with confidence in leagues that require you to play a kicker. Not only is he struggling, the Ravens go on bye this week before playing on a questionable New York surface in Week 15. I'm not holding two kickers and you're not really playing him with confidence in either of the next two weeks.
