Week 10 Team-by-Team Notes
ATL: Did the fantasy community get Bijan Robinson the work he deserved? It was a step in the right direction, but be aware that one strong usage game doesn't wipe away the usage downside that we saw earlier this season. Assuming you've cracked the Arthur Smith code is ... well, dangerous.
AZ: I thought Kyler looked fine for his season debut and he reminded us late of why his skill set is so friendly in our game. Th schedule does him no favors (from Weeks 13-17, he has the Steelers, his bye, the 49ers, the Bears and the Eagles), so it's unlikely I'll have him ranked as a top 10 guy at any point late in the season, but there is upside in his profile if you're in a matchup where you're a significant underdog and can swallow some risk.
DET: Both running backs get there in part due to the shootout nature of this game. Don't get me wrong, I like both backs, but how often is a DET game going to play out like this moving forward? Over the next month, they get the Bears twice, the Broncos, the Packers and the Saints.
LAC: Jalen Guyoton looked roster worthy given the need for stability next to Keenan Allen. The Bolts get the Broncos twice, the Raiders and the Bills from Weeks 14-17 ... if Guyton can emerge as WR2 and Palmer's recovery takes time, there's an impact to be made when it matters most. Maybe. He's worth stashing at the very least.
NYG: To call this offense stuck is putting it mildly. If this team means anything to your fantasy team ... you're doing it wrong. I understand that Saquon Barkley is talented and that you spent a lot to get him this summer -- that's a long time ago. He's not a lineup lock as we work our way through the impactful byes.
DAL: Well that went as expected. Stupid Tony Pollard. They are finding ways for him to not succeed. I'm not sure what you do with him other than pray. He's still the lead back on an offense that is cruising. That's the good. The bad is that he's had essentially nothing to do with it.
WAS: I don't think Brian Robinson is hitting the 100-yard bonus as a receiver very often, but being on the field in an aggressive offense opens you up to have weird things happen. He 100% relies on scoring and he keeps paying it off. It's a dangerous way to live ... I'd be happy to move on from him for a more stable RB2 if that's an option in your league (Jets and 49ers in Weeks 16-17 isn't ideal).
SEA: Kenneth Walker's usage wasn't elite, but it was a step forward from the past two weeks and that's good to see given the upside we know he has in his bag (64-yard TD catch serving as a reminder)
IND: The Colts go on bye this week, so maybe it's possible to trade for Jonathan Taylor from a desperate manager. I would. Indy gets the Falcons and Raiders in Weeks 16-17 ... we could get vintage JT at the perfect time.
NE: 23 touches for Rhamondre Stevenson (102 yards) and 9 targets for Demario Dougles (84 yards) ... the Patriots are exactly who we think they are. That's not overly useful, but at least it's predictable.
HOU: Flop lag with Devin Singletary and continued value for Noah Brown. To be honest, I'm not sure either is sustainable. Dameon Pierce is going to be back sooner than later and this offensive line still isn't any good. As for Brown, he went off last week with Robert Woods out and this week with Nico Collins out. Roster him, sure, but not sure we are looking at a player with weekly value ... yet.
CIN: The long Chase TD (64 yards) was a thing of beauty and a reminder of what this offense can do. They lack consistency, but they continue to show positive signs. Tee Higgins sat out ... I don't hate the idea of trying to buy some Higgins stock for the stretch run. I've got my Bengals Super Bowl future and if that thing is going to have life, Higgins is going to have to be a part of a run!
NO: Jameis Winston taking over for Derek Carr (should/concussion) could shift the value of everyone in this offense if it ends up being a long-term thing. Olave had the gorgeous touchdown from Winston ... not a surprise. Winston's YOLO style of play gives Olave the WR1 upside that he entered the season and makes Shaheed a more appealing weekly flex. This is bad news for the slot stylings of Michael Thomas and while Alvin Kamara remains viable, his pass catching floor is certainly lower with this change.
MIN: Josh Dobbs continues to impress (thanks Cust!) and he might well be on fantasy radars now. It's tough, the Week 11 bye week teams don't impact fantasy much, but with games against the Broncos and Bears coming up, he comes with a reasonable floor.
GB: Jordan Love played well for 56 minutes before remembering that he was Jordan Love. Aaron Jones had the usage edge over AJ Dillon, but he submarined a bunch of lineups by again struggling to be efficient. I'm not comfortable with any Packer in my lineups.
PIT: Both running backs produced for a second straight game and yet ... I'm still not comfortable counting on either. They still have four divisional games left to play and I still don't trust this offense. I have zero issues in trading Harris or Warren for a piece you can feel confident in flexing weekly.
TEN: DeAndre Hopkins Nuked all lineups this week and ... I'm actually not worried. Know why? That happens when you have a rookie QB. He has a wide range of outcomes, but that's better than all downside like he had with Tannehill. He's still on the Flex radar for me.
TB: Chris Godwin has turned into early season Michael Thomas. There's just not much upside despite the consistent volume ... Evans gets all of the valuable targets. Another productive week for Rachaad White -- rinse and repeat.
SF: All three of the 49er pass catchers got there! Feels like that never happens, but it worked out. All three of them are great ... and all three of them come with a very wide range of outcomes. Feel good about what you got this week, but understand that one strong week across the board doesn't make all of these options all of a sudden "safe" options.
JAX: No Zay Jones, lock in Christian Kirk. Easy game. Calvin Ridley needs to be on fantasy benches until otherwise noted and no, not at all worried about a down Travis Etienne week -- he's still elite.
CLE: Kareem Hunt has scored in 5 straight games. He's not leading this backfield in carries, nor is he efficient. This is smoke and mirrors ... it just happens to be lasting for nearly two months. I have no faith in him holding top 24 value at the position the rest of the way.
BAL: Another long score for Keaton Mitchell and another week with limited usage. I'm not sure there's a skill player on this offense you can trust outside of Mark Andrews. Zay Flowers and the running backs will have their moments, but none of them are consistent enough to lock in weekly.
