BETS
I know I’m going to regret not betting Collin Morikawa and Tom Kim this, but I’ve become comfortable in my losing, so I’m trying to switch it up a bit with the bombs and their potential placements. One of the big names may just destroy the course, however, in what can be boiled down to a wedge and putting contest, I feel like the board is a bit more open this week despite the strong field.
And really, despite having nine outright bets, five of them are from 140/1 and beyond, so this is actually one of my cheapest pre-tournament weeks in come time.
Tommy Fleetwood — Do that stats align as much as you’d like? Nah. But he’s been so close for weeks now, that it’s time to just keep riding the form and pray he can figure out how to close.
Sahith Theegala — The high-end finishes have evaporated, but the consistent results still remain. And now he gets to return to the scene of the crime. Theegala walked onto the 18th with a one stroke lead a yea ago and proceed to blade a wedge into the bunker and lose to Xander Schauffele by two. Time for redemption. He rallied at the US Open after a poor opening round to churn out a Top 30 finish, based mostly on his irons. And when you look at the courses where he’s done the best in his career so far, it’s basically the same as Bubba: Augusta, Riviera, Copperhead, and TPC Scottsdale.
Aaron Rai — The Brit has gained over 7 strokes on approach in two of his past three starts, but on shorter tracks in Canada and in Fort Worth, similar to TPC River Highlands. And he’s been doing it by dominating the short Par 4s. Over the past 24 rounds, Rai’s tied for best in the field on holes of that length with Scottie Scheffler. Good news, since there are eight of them on the course.
Justin Suh — In a putting contest, it’s not hard to back the best putter in the field in Suh.
Sam Ryder — More on him below.
Doug Ghim — He still can’t putt, but the previous high-end ball striking has begun to return over the past month. Pete Dye and short courses have alwas been his jam too.
OVER 62 UNDER PAR — I bet the over 62 players under par at Bet365 during the show Monday, and it’s now at -150. I actually still think -150 is a good number for this bet if you still wanted to get in.
EUROS — I heard different people say these two names on my Twitter timeline this week. That was good enough for me.

WEATHER
The PM/AM wave may get an advantage with soft conditions both days if there is no rain delay. And if there’s no rain delay, it simply equalizes there waves, not flip them.

DRAFTKINGS
Tambo and I talked through the DraftKings slate this week, going over the ownership spikes in each range, and building lineups to counteract that.

Going with my gut that this field is a bit more wide up, I fade all the 10K range and loaded up on 9K. This is my player pool for 75 lineups at the Travelers, along with their ranking per by custom numbers at Fantasy National over the past 24 rounds.

If you’re wondering why Sam Ryder is on the list, I looked into his numbers and am hoping to get in early before he turns his season around. He has those three impressive weeks to close the West Coast swing, and challenged at Valspar and Valero, then his season went off the rails. However, in his past two starts at Colonial and Memorial, the sharp iron play has returned, it’s just the putter has masked any semblance of a good finish. I would think the struggles with the flat stick are. Momentary blip (or his game is broken). Previous to his past two starts, he’d gained on the greens in 11 straight events, gaining over +6.2 SG:PUTT in five of them.
