BETS
Now into August, the PGA season is not at all going out with a bang. Merely a whimper.
Now that I don’t care as much, maybe I can win? Doubtful based on the perpetual losers I wagered on; potentially luck is on my side?

Tyrrell Hatton — In a year that’s given you a blueprint for winners based on trending form, you’d think Hatton has win one the next few events. Since venturing to America for the first time at Waste Management in February, the Brits’s piled up seven Top 6 finishes in 15 events, and in total has finished outside the Top 20 in only four of those events. He’s currently sitting Top 10 in the field in driving and putting over the past 50 rounds, per Fantasy National, while gaining an average 2.4 strokes on approach over his last 10 starts.
Tommy Fleetwood — Yes, I’m the dope who is betting him this week. My week was drawn to lose money on Tommy.
Collin Morikawa — A course that demands accuracy and position off the tee and pin point irons? I’ve been losing money on Kawa in this spot for two years now. I full expect him to lead the field ball striking and watch him go full Scheffler on the green. Then I’ll be like this…
Sam Burns — It’s been quite the inconsistent year for Burns, but he’s one of a select few, at the least the past few years, who can just pop up and snatch a win despite middling form. He’s posted excellent results at Southwind the last two years (T20/P2), and enters gaining on approach in six of his last seven starts while averaging almost a third of stroke per round on Bermuda greens.
Spaun and Hoge FRL — I just like Spaun to pileup birdies this weekend FRL is far more likely than an outright victory. Outside of his final round 78 last year, he was essentially the best player in the field. And Hoge, we know he can go nuclear, and he’ll have an early Thursday tee time when the course projected to be soft when I checked early Wednesday. Of course, that rain is now hitting Memphis as I type this, so there may still be a mimimal advantage with softer conditions in the AM
WEATHER
The rain in Memphis pulled a 15-year old Pat Mayo and came far earlier than expected. Should still soften up the grounds a bit before it gets spicy in the afternoon.
WIND TOWER: Germantown/Memphis
NFL
There’s a FRESH Cust Corner dropping Thursday, with regular golf, Top 150 rankings, and the best QB list with Cust and Geoff coming out next week. Until then, I suggest you buy the Run The Sims season package — Code “Mayo” gets you 10% off — so, you know, I make money, but if you’re a serious NFL Showdown players RTS ran a cool content contest that’s completely free to check out, and I highly suggest it.
