Scottish Open Bets
As I spoke about on the show Wednesday with Tambo, I cashed out the 40 players under Par bet. It currently sits at -350, so the payout on my +130 side was solid enough to cover most of my outrights for the week, and I got kinda spooked by the forecast (more on that later).
WATCH: SCOTTISH OPEN BETS, ONE AND DONE
Patrick Cantlay — Cantlay rallied from the pack to challenged down the stretch last year, and enters this season with the consistent tee-to-green game required at Renaissance Club. Following his T4 at the Travelers, he’s now gained at least six strokes T2G in eight of his past 10 starts while gaining on the greens in seven of eight.
Tyrrell Hatton — Hatton’s been close all year and it seems like it’s juts a matter of time. Despite middling success at Renaissance Club over the past four years, he’s been a links specialist in his career, so maybe this is his time.
Justin Thomas — I’ve watched (and laughed) as various people have burned money on JT at these increased odds one rte past few months. And now, it’s finally my turn on the JT money pit ride to be the target of those aforementioned laughs. JT has two Top 10s in three Scottish starts lifetime, but a I’m banking on a change of scenery being exactly what he needs to reignite his game. It’s a stretch, yes, I’m aware. The irons are sneakily getting better too. He’s gained in five of his past six rounds overall, averaging +1.72 SG:APP per round in those. He just keeps having one part of his game sink him. In the round he lost strokes, he dropped 1.8 to the field on approach. He also lost 4.4 strokes around the green that day in Detroit. If JT can just make the bad rounds around field average rounds, like he used to, there’s still plenty of upside for low scores to vault him to the top. The recuse greens can always be a source of comfort if the putter isn’t rolling how you want too.
Aaron Rai — Rai enters in the best form of his career, piling up four Top 25 finishes in his past five starts. And although the irons have been all over the place, his putting is finally falling into place. After losing in six straight tournaments, Rai’s now gained in three in a row with a return to slower, more comfortable fescue greens soon on the horizon.
Kurt Kitayama — While not quite in the Ricky Bobby zone of first or last, Kitayama’s getting there. He enters with nothing but bad form (three straight missed cuts) but Scotland sets up perfectly for his game. That game? Wind infused coastal tracks or slow greens. Renaissance Club has both.
Fisher & Lawrence — While this is a co-sanctioned event between both tours, there’s enough wind and possible rain int he forecast at a links course to have some of that random Euro Tour DNA take over by Sunday. And I like these guys.
Alexander Bjork — Top 10s are his jam the past three months, picking up four in a row and six in his last seven DP World Tour starts. Yes, it’s a big leap in field strength, however, he’s made the cut at Renaissance Club in all four starts. The Swede currently leads all players on the DPWT in scoring average for the year, while sitting third in SG: APP.
Glover and Champ — I like to bet on things. Primarily golf. This fills that need.

To TRIGGER the audience, I had Davis on for our quarterly chat, primarily talking about the worst teams in the NFL entering the season. Of course, we get off topic per usual, (check the time codes) and talk Twitter vs Threads, RFK Jr., Republican Nomination Betting Odds, AI and Deep Fakes and more! Get the early release in video form RIGHT NOW. The Audio will be up on the PME feed early Thursday.

Then on Thursday, my co-founder at Run The Sims, Justin Freeman, joined me to discuss how NFL Projections actually get made and how to best utilize them for season-long and Best Ball purposes. Then we look how to customize projections for injuries or to invert offenses to see what happens when things don’t go according to plan. Fun show.
Most importantly, if you want to create your own 2023 projections, it’s FREE TO DO at Run The Sims right now. Customize them all you want and save your progress.

WEATHER
Some are using the North Berwick tower, but I’ve decided to use Dirlton. (It looked closer on the map when I zoomed in) Either way, it’s going to be consistently breezy on Thursday, while the PM on Friday looks wet and windy. Of course, if you check back in 5 hours from now, it may look completely different. That’s life on the North Sea. Sunday looks hilarious for the leaders. Should make some fun Sunday morning viewing. If that forecast holds, may not be crazy to bet some massive odds guys going out early to see of the leaders will crumble.

Scottish DraftKings
My favorite part of the crossover event? Using Euro scrubs when the PGA options are actually much better. Don’t tell me how to waste my money, please. Here’s what I’m doing in the $6k Range.
WATCH: SCOTTISH OPEN DRAFTKINGS PICKS & LINEUPS
Scheffler, Fleetwood, Hatton, Aberg, Rai, Woodland stand out in their respective ranges. As Tambo and I discovered on the show when we were making lineups, that the 7.5K-8K range is going to get hammered based on the most common builds. That, and Scheffler’s ownership may be lower than expected and moved on to Rory based on the range using Scottie leaves you in (7-7.3) most of the time.
