Now that I got them Kokrak moneys, I feel the need to give some back. I went over the picks in-depth (well, in depth for me) on Wednesday’s final report. Plus, a DK ownership breakdown is included. If you’re looking for the audio podcast to the show, this particular episode will be moved to Daily Fantasy Sports Picks & Bets: The MIX now that football has started. You can sub to that feed here

Along with my short Wednesday shows, there’s currently Euro Tour Picks, daily French Open bets, UFC and Soccer Draftkings picks, and esports bets. The feed to designed to give you the info and picks ASAP and not have to sit through 90 mins of some jackass host who thinks he’s far funnier than he actually is. That me.
AANNNNDDDDDD if you leave a 5-star review along with a Twitter handle or email address you’ll get in a draw for one of three $33 prizes to play in the dogleg. Takes 31 seconds. It’s easy money.
Here are the picks.
It’s back full time on The PME. Much like how all the football listeners have supported the golf shows over the years to grow it into what it has become, my golf people, support the NFL shows even if you don’t give a fuck. Even if you don’t listen, remember to download the eps (then erase them if you like) and click on the vids, smash the like and take a hike if you want. This sort of engagement helps the show’s discoverability in each system and allows them to grow.
I’ve begun a new NFL series before we go into the rankings for the. Plus, I have at least two HUGE NFL announcements coming in the next few week. (Hopefully three tbh), but we kicked it off with me and Ciely talking about every relevant player in the NFC East
Tomorrow, will be the same style show but with the AFC East. But, since you’re here, I’ll give you early access if you care to watch the video. I’d do it with the podcast as well, but that technology simply doesn’t exist. We don’t live in the Jetsons’ time.
I’m super excited about these upcoming announcements. And if you like football, and LOVE Fantasy National, you should be really excited too. More info SOON!!!!
Muirfield Village Golf Club has undergone comprehensive renovations since the conclusion of the 2020 Memorial Tournament, including significant modifications to 12 of the 18 putting surfaces. “This will probably be my last bite at the apple,” said Jack Nicklaus at the renovation announcement. “I’ve done little tweaks on the golf course throughout the years, and some significant changes, like the par-3 16th. This time, we are going through the golf course, A to Z, and making sure we do everything at one time.”
If you want the full hole-by-hole breakdown of the renos at Muirfield, he’s a guide. And there are pictures!!!! Very helpful for illiterates, like myself.
All the greens have been redone, so my hypothesis is that some of the historically good putters at Memorial may need a round or two to adjust. Or not, maybe these players just have a perfect feel for this speed and grass type and can figure out the new contours without pause. Any way, I decided to sort by those with the most familiarity on these greens (I excluded the Workday event from last year as those greens ran slower than the usually ULTRA FAST Memorial set up. Hence how Justin Thomas. hit every putt inside 8-feet). The settings for this on Fantasy National are “Past 24 Round”, “Muirfield Village Only”, and “Rounds Gained vs the field”

Outside of the 14th holes, despite the bunker shifts and tee box movements, the T2G game should be around the same, but just in case maybe it’s beneficial to look at which players have done well at all at all Nicklaus designed courses. I put the settings to “last 4 years”, “past 24 rounds”, and clicked the “Nicklaus Course” filter.
It’s listed by SG: Total and you can use the column next to it to see how those players have compared T2G too
If that doesn’t churn out the results you want, here are the results of the same search by with the “Rounds Gained %”filter on instead of the “Rank”. Rounds Gained is exactly what it sounds like. It’s the percentage of times that player beat the field in a round in a stat.
I like to mess around with the different ways to sort. Not only because I find it helpful, but also because if I want to back a player and have no outward reason to make the case publicly, eventually I’ll stumble on to something. The glory of stats!
Bent + Fast/Lightening past 24 rounds SG PUTT
The Masters is not included these numbers because there’s no official, available stats for Augusta. However, unofficially, from 2021 (shout out Nelson Adcock), here’s a catch up on putting from some of the players with smaller sample sizes
Wallace -0.56
CBEZ +1.12
This search is just strokes gained over round on Bentgrass greens of any speed over the past 36 rounds
Finau is someone who has done well at both too. Not sure if there’s anything beyond coincidence to this, but as E Pat points out, it’s interesting. While it is only used in one round at AMEX, there is a Nicklaus Course in that PGA West rotation. It makes entirely more sense than when I see similar success between Memorial and Sawgrass. But there’s been a lot of crossover success between those two courses as well. (Vik Perez SZN????)
Also, somehow Eric is still below 10K followers on Twitter. Figure it the fuck out and give the man a follow, OKKKKK?????
DRAFTKINGS
Ownership Guesses (get better ownership projections at Fantasy National)
Hovland 23%
Cantlay 21%
Finau 19%
Stanley 19%
Morikawa 19%
Grillo 17%
Keegan 16%
I decided to use two of the combo of Spieth, Rory, and Bryson in half my lineups to try and get lucky with no ownership tied to them. The rest are the balanced with most of the guys I bet on this week. And yes, I’m still using Stanley, but guys like Knox, Danny Lee, Michael Thompson, and Patrick Rodgers are decent pivots from down at the bottom if you can’t handle that ownership.
UFC
After an MMA bye week, the Dog or Pass Podcast IS BACKKKKK!!!!!!!
Watch it. Thanks
WEATHER
Looks like there could be a slight advantage to the PM/AM groups, but I’m a career loser so I’m not playing it. If you want the wind tower closest to the course, it’s the Shawnee Hills/O'Shaughnessy tower.
NOTES
Rory McIlroy is one of five players with multiple rounds of 64 or better at Muirfield Village GC since 1983.
Somehow, Russell Knox holds the best Proximity to the Hole average at Muirfield Village GC (during the Memorial Tournament) of any player with 22 or more rounds during the ShotLink era (27’ 7”)
Four different players (six instances) have won the Memorial Tournament and THE PLAYERS or a major championship in the same season, and Bryson DeChambeau (2020 U.S. Open), Justin Thomas (THE PLAYERS) and Hideki Matsuyama (2021 Masters Tournament) can join them with a win this week (Dustin Johnson and Phil Mickelson are not in the field). The other players to accomplish the feat are Raymond Floyd (1982), Curtis Strange (1988), Paul Azinger (1993) and Tiger Woods (1999, 2000, 2001).
The Memorial is one of three elevated events on the PGA TOUR schedule, following The Genesis Invitational and the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Each one offers a heightened purse ($9.3 million), 50 more FedExCup points for the winner (550 total) than a standard event and a three-year PGA TOUR exemption.
Here’s how difficult the course played a year ago…
wouldn’t count on that again.
Finally, I mentioned it at the end of the research show this week, but if you want to get some free money to play at some smaller sites, email me with FREE MONEY in the subject and I’ll let ya know how.
